Frazer Kingdom-Barrett is the lyricist and melody writer who collaborates with musicians under the name **Jemas Collective**.
In 2012, Frazer worked on a song called “You don’t know how I feel” with Simon Rudd and Graham Bowley. By 2018, that song evolved into “Who I am.” Frazer later rewrote it with Nicky Stevens, Asifa Lahore, and Paul Miles. The track was remixed into a dance style and became the official anthem for **Croydon Pride 2019 in London**.
In 2021, Frazer embarked on a project to create sets of song lyrics and melodies and gather a group of musicians to develop them into finished songs. The goal was to reach existing and new fans, speak to them through the music, and share love and connection.
The first of these songs was “Mama song,” with music kindly written by Frank Baugh. It was produced in London with Paul Miles in October 2021 and went on to win an award in the Song of the Year Competition 2022, where it took 2nd place. The collective later developed other songs like “Sleep” (produced in December 2021) and “Self Expressed” (produced in March 2022).
The current single, **”Tell Me are you free on Christmas Day,”** was originally written roughly ten years ago (2015) with Jane Hamlin. Frazer worked with producer Paul Miles at Select Studios in London, and the song features vocals by Gemma Wedderburn.
