Leo Tenneriello

Leo Tenneriello is a singer-songwriter and writer from Taranto. He graduated with honours in Political Science from the University of Bari. He published his first book in 1992 (‘Individual, Mass and Power’) and his first record work in 2006 (‘ControVerso’). He pursues his two great passions in parallel and without ever really stopping. He has published many projects both as a writer and as a songwriter. Many awards stand out among them: in 2013 he received the ‘Franz Kafka Italia Special Jury Prize’ for the CD Leo T. Kafka. In 2020, he was a national finalist of ‘Sanremo Rock & Trend Festival’, winner of the ‘Premium Partner Special Prize’. In 2023, he released two singles: ‘Devo dare conto’ and ‘Tuttofare’. The latter was a national finalist of the ‘Palco d’Autore’ award, dedicated to authors, songwriters and performers. Leo Tenneriello has participated in numerous festivals and music competitions.

The title of Leo Tenneriello’s song is an excellent summary of what the listener should expect. Irony, lightness and a slightly different vision of love. Here we are talking about a liquid love between uncertainties and betrayals. An unstable love in which you only look at the surface and say you love it. Leo Tenneriello speaks of betrayal and deception, but he does it lightly. A pop melody embraces the singer-songwriter style of the voice, enhancing its qualities. All seasoned with lyrics that know how to tone down unsympathetic situations. ‘He and She seek true love, but are deluded and end up disappointed. Acceptance: despite the pain, they learn to accept reality and forgive themselves and others. Love takes leave of childhood bliss in which everything was good, beautiful and right,’ is how Leo describes his piece. ‘L’amore è in corto’ is written in four hands with his lifelong friend Mimmo Cavallo, author for Zucchero, Fiorella Mannoia, Mia Martini and many others.
